Party Planning 101

Hello lovelies and happy Saturday to you!

Can you believe we are in the month of September already, this year REALLY flew by, which made me realize that the holidays are literally around the corner. Because I want each and everyone of you to enjoy your parties and events as much as your guests, I would like to share with you my 3-week perfect party/event planning list of actions!
Planning the perfect party/event technically only takes three weeks. Please note that this is from the time you decide on actual dates, times and locations. This list gives you a brief outline designed to help you plan, purchase and implement your party plans better, so it goes off without a hitch. Please note: Some events for example a weddings may need longer times so this 3 week action plan may not apply. So without further ado lets get your party started!
Action you need to take-THREE Weeks before Event
Make your invitation list.
Decide on a theme, if you want one.
end out invitations-This can be done via regular mail, email and even phone invites are considered acceptable.
Plan the menu
Line up any help you may need.
Actions you need to take-TWO Weeks before Event
Clean any crystal, china, and silverware you’ll be using, and launder and iron linens.
Come up with a playlist-The music should be upbeat and sufficient to last throughout the party.
Do a first round of grocery shopping and cooking-Prepare any dishes that can be frozen.
Notify the neighbors-Let them know you’re having a party if you expect it to be large, loud, or parking-intensive. It doesn't hurt to invite them either :-)
Actions you need to take-ONE Week Before Event
Clean the house thoroughly. This way, you’ll need only a quick once-over before the party.
Arrange the furniture as you’ll want it for the party, making sure that guests can move easily from one part of your house to another. Designate a coffee table or side table for coffee and dessert, if you’ll be serving them. Tuck away things that will be in the way and any precious items that might get broken.
Stock the bar-Plan three bottles of wine for every four people, three to four cocktails per guest for a two- to three-hour cocktail party.
Actions you need to take -WEEK of Event (3 DAYS prior to event)
Decorate. Arrange candles, put up theme decorations, etc.
Make space in a closet and fill it with hangers to hang coats and jackets.
Finish grocery shopping.
Set the tables and or buffets
Buy and arrange flowers.
Finish as much of the cooking as you can. Also, for any foods that require cooking on party day, do as much prep (dicing, marinating, rinsing lettuce, etc.) as possible.
Give your house a once-over. Do whatever touch-ups are needed.
Actions you need to take-DAY of Event
Finish any last-minute cooking.
Place EXTRA seating if necessary.
Display food- about one hours before guests arrive, set out appetizers and snacks that won’t spoil. Wrap them tightly to ensure freshness!
Put on your FIERCEST outfit!
Greet guests as they arrive. Make sure everything is organized so you’re free to mingle, not tied to the kitchen.
