New Year, New You!

This year is all about treating yourself. This doesn’t give you an excuse to go out and max out your credit card, however if that is your prerogative just don’t blame us when the bill arrives!

This year is all about making you a better You. Whether you want to hit your fitness goals, become a better cook, or get away for a little “me” time, Vincente Living is here to help you along the way.

This year it’s okay to be a little bit selfish. Take a hot bubble bath, spend that extra 10 minutes getting you hair just right, get a babysitter so you can go out for a night on the town… indulge in yourself and make you the best YOU you can be.

Some of my personal goals for the 2015 year to become a better me:

Relax. Practice yoga more frequently and meditate.

Meditation helps you stay focused, increases positive emotions, reduces loneliness, and decreases anxiety, depression, and stress.

I need to decompress many times throughout the day: after a stressful time at work, when dealing with people I’d prefer to avoid, or just getting swept up into my own chaotic thoughts. To unwind, I close my eyes, clear my mind, and focus on my breathing.

Say “no” more often.

This sounds like a horribly mean resolution, however I often find myself worrying about other people’s happiness more than my own: if they’re enjoying my music choice, I’ll let others make decisions rather than putting in my two cents, etc.

This year is about ME and how I can make myself happier and content.

Cut ties with toxic people.

We are in a world filled with people who are either uppers: people who build you up, or downers: individuals who pull you down. I plan to surround myself with nothing but positivity this year, because what you put out into the world is what you get in return. Don’t be afraid to “unfriend” that person on Facebook or delete that number from your phone. In the words of the Dalai Lama, “Do not let the behavior of others destroy your inner peace”.

Eat healthier.

This doesn’t mean I am going to eat nothing but salads and Kale, but instead, make more informed decisions. Before the holidays I was very keen on eating fresh foods and avoiding the processed ones; once thanksgiving and Christmas rolled around my motivation was derailed.

It’s time to start up again and commit for the long haul! Eating healthier makes me feel lighter, cleaner, and less bogged down which is exactly how I want my 2015 to be!

Feel free to borrow or alter any of my resolutions if they align with your 2015 goals! New Year, You Year. Let’s be the best YOU we can in 2015!
